Peter C. English Tribute

November 13, 1973 – June 22, 2004
Peter English Obituary (2004) – Hyannis, MA – Cape Cod Times (legacy.com)
Pete English was an amazing guy who lived his life to the fullest. Pete was warm, kind and intense all at the same time. There wasn’t much he couldn’t do, and he often pushed himself to the edge of his limits. He was a musician and played guitar in a band at one time. He was a fan of Ozzy Osborne’s guitarist Zack Wylde and Zack even autographed Pete’s guitar for him.

Pete loved animals especially his dog Tucker. He could ride a horse, but he preferred motorcycles, especially fast ones, and his beloved Camaro Convertible which he maintained in impeccable condition.
When Pete became engaged to the love of his life Wendy, he moved from Cape Cod to Snellville Georgia where she lived so he could be with her and her son Brandon. Everything in his life was going great. He had been hired by a motorcycle dealer and had just been chosen to join a professional motorcycle racing team.
On June 22, 2004, Pete was at the motorcycle dealership where he worked. A girl who had recently bought a bike from the dealership had brought it in to be serviced. By the time she was ready to leave, the weather had turned very bad with heavy rain. She was worried about riding her bike in the bad weather, so Pete offered to give her a ride home in his new Firebird which she was happy to accept.
Pete and the girl left for her home in the hard driving rain, but when Pete pulled his new Firebird onto the Ronald Reagan Parkway it hit a flooded area on the highway that caused Pete’s car to hydroplane. They slid across the highway into the oncoming traffic. Pete’s car was hit broadside by an oncoming car. The girl was killed instantly. Peter died soon about two hours after arriving at the hospital.
Pete was generous and caring. He was always offering to help someone anything. Unfortunately, this time it was the wrong time and wrong place. Pete was only 30 years old when he and his passenger were tragically killed. It is not surprising that his last act was one of kindness.
